Programme: Governance and Anti-Corruption Legal Reforms

The IMF's 2022 Article IV and Extended Credit Facility review described adoption of the amended Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission Act, the new Whistleblower and Witness Protection Act and the revised Code of Conduct as 'good progress' in strengthening the governance framework. The LACC legislation expanded prosecutorial and asset-declaration responsibilities. The IMF also stressed that implementation was the next critical step. This record therefore documents the legal reforms without presenting their enactment as proof that corruption had been eliminated or that enforcement was complete.
